Does Pamela video recorder alert the other user when they are being recorded? I ask because a friend told me about this, and now I'm a little paranoid... Can people record me without my knowledge?
[Technical Support] Pamela VM answers call, can I "pick up" the call?

I am having a mild issue...sometimes Pamela answers the call before I can get to it and begins recording voice mail. If I get my headset on I can hear the other party speaking or leaving a VM.

Is there any way I can simply stop the VM recording and "pick up" the call from Pamela or Skype (before the other party hangs up) and start to have my conversation?
I haven't found a way. I have been able to send text/chat messages to the other party telling them I can hear them, but they can't hear me.

Thanks,

Dana

Win 7, Home Premium 64
Skype 4.2.0.155
Pamela Professional 4.6.0.50

I have the most recent versions of both Skype and Pamela Pro. Pamela crashes every time after recording a video call when I hang up. It doesn't however crash when the other party hangs up. Also, it crashes when the audio recording format is set to mp3, which is something that wasn't an issue in the previous version. I would much prefer to not be forced into recording my audio in a wma format.

Here are my system specs:
OS: Windows 7, 32-bit
Pamela version: Pro 4.6.0.57
Skype version: 4.2.0.155
Hello,

Yesterday we released a new hotfix with version number 4.6.0.56. We fixed several lockup issues in the audio part of Pamela as well as many other related potential problems.

Please update to this version and let me know if the problem is still present.
I am having a very similar problem. Playing emotion files about 50% of the time locks up the recording - which isn't the big problem. I'm used to Pamela crashing now and then. The problem is the file left on the desktop will ONLY play in VLC. I then have to take it through a convert process to even make it readable by any other program, including Audacity which I edit in. With other recorders on the market, I'm not sure I want to deal with this hassle. Any ideas on how to avoid this happening?

Hi,

I skype call with about 6 other people on a conference call to play a DnD 4e Role Playing game via a Virtual Table Top app.

I would like to be able to send sound effects, such as Dungeon Doors, Sword Fights etc. I found the "Mega Emotions" player icon. I can make sounds come out of my comp, I have no trouble using skype either. However, I need to be able to "Inject" the sound in the signal I'm sending out as it were, so that all the people listening to me hear not only my voice, but also the sounds effects.

Can anyone help, or know how to do this? Cheers.

B
(I add my name to the chorus of users looking for a manual; or at least a Wiki so a manual can be created; or more extensive coverage in the FAQ's if that is meant to be the only manual)

How do I schedule a conference call (in Call Scheduler) that calls multiple numbers (without setting up a one-time group in Skype itself first)?

What is meant to be the usefulness / utility of the "AutoConf Group Editor" and its setup (as opposed to just having a Skype group)?

Will Pamela Call Professional be coming out on Linux anytime soon (saw PamFax made it there today)?

There are some flaky, unsupported python scripts (with even less documentation) that support auto conference (Skype_Cast_no_chat, Skype Autoconference). That is, they will answer all incoming calls and add them to the first call as a conference. Is there anything like this in Pamela Call Recorder now or planned? Would like the capability and more robust (announce entrance and exit, let person calling know the line has been answered and they are about to join the conference, passcode to prevent unauthorized users joining).
I have SoundMAX digital audio on the motherboard and I have a Plantronics USB headset, which is what I use.

I assume the audio only goes away when you record the call as Pamela does nothing when you just do a call w/o recording?

I would presume that was the case though Pamela is set to record automatically so I wouldn't know for sure.
Hi,

Do you have multiple audio devices connected to your computer? I assume the audio only goes away when you record the call as Pamela does nothing when you just do a call w/o recording?
Hi,

After you entered your code what was the result? Was there any message or error shown?
I bougth a Pamela Call Recorder but the code doesn't seem to work: on the toolbar I can see the "Buy unlimited recording" string and there is no "www.pamela.biz" and, worse, recording stops after 15 minutes.
To entering the code I followed the procedure described in pamela's web.

I'm using skype 4.1.0.179 under Vista SP2. PCR version 4.6.0.5.

What I can do?
Hi,

No, unfortunately it is either MP3 (or WMA, WAV, OGG) with audio only or WMV with video and audio. But I am sure there are tools that can separate a WMV file to extract the audio part. Suggest you do an internet search on it.
